Lorenzo was born in Bologna on the 2nd of May 1976. In 1999, he graduated with honours (magna cum laude) in Economics at the University of Bologna. Lorenzo is Associate Professor of International Commercial Law at the National Research University – Higher School of Economics, Faculty of Law in Moscow. He studied law and economics in Dublin (University College Dublin) and London where he completed a PhD in Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He was teaching assistant at the LSE for the LL.M course of “Law of Corporate Finance” and Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Economics at the University of Bologna where he held the course of International Commercial Law.
In his professional career, he worked in Luxembourg, first as an auditor in PwC auditing banks, holding companies and investment funds and then as a legal officer in the Financial Engineering Department of Société Européenne de Banque (Gruppo Intesa) providing assistance through the evolution and preservation of corporate assets, corporate restructuring and tax planning polices. Since 2003 he is registered as a chartered accountant and authorized auditor in Bologna and, since 2004, as an expert comptable and commissaire aux comptes in Luxembourg.
He is fluent in English and French both in writing and speaking. He speaks Spanish and Russian.
